Academic writing in higher education has been a long-standing priority, with greater need for supports noted the past decades (Wingate & Tribble, 2012) and an increasing focus on discipline-specific language order students to learn write communicate effectively as professionals their chosen fields (Grzyb et al., 2018). This study examined student learning outcomesin two writingintensive designated health professions courses (Nursing Public Health). Students completed assignments throughout semester. One course section required turn final paper without receiving feedback during process while, other course, received sections of At exam stage, were asked reflect experience course. end semester, submitted reflection meet requirements. To inform revision, narratives analyzed. Narratives de-identified inductively coded by single coder. First-round coding employed descriptive vivo explore data. The codebook second-round was refined codes classified within headings descriptive, emotion, value. Findings indicate that felt they had increased capacity when provided They also benefited from integrating credibility sources, organization, citations. Integrating opportunities contributed learning.
